~~Our 2011 Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Challenge~~
Let's try to pack eleven boxes by the 11th month (November) of the "11th" year (2011) !!
Buying things for the shoeboxes all year long will allow for many opportunities for you to share with others about this ministry.
Here is a list of suggested items you may want to purchase throughout the rest of the year.
April - 11 Toothbrushes and 11 tubes of toothpaste
May- 11 small stuffed animals (check after- Easter sales)
June- 11 small toys (jump ropes, matchbox cars,etc)
July- 11 T Shirts, socks, or other piece of clothing
August- 11 Pieces of school supplies (check for back to school sales)
September- Get family letters/pictures together
October- 11 Combs, hair clips, ball or flashlights
November- hard candy (Double wrap in ziploc bag) Check for after Halloween sales. Our church has collected about 2000 candy canes already.
Also, don't forget to set aside $7 per month for shipping for each box, and keep an eye out for shoeboxes that are suitable for packing!
